The presence of wooden constructions in the landscape of cities in the State of Paraná was considered to be very significant in the first half of the twentieth century. However, deep alterations have occurred. Nowadays what has been noticed is the insignificant presence of such constructions in the urban environment. Thís work is based on the concept of constructive systems. After identifying these constructions in the State of Paraná, it describes those used by the pioneers and the current models developed by the prefabrication companies. The focus of this work is on wooden housing projects. The classification of constructive systems makes their comparison possible, as well as the evidence that, if there were no retreats, there were few technologica! improvements in the construction field.
