Abstract

The aim of this project was to evaluate the effect of indol-butiric acid on rooting of west Indian cherry (Malpighia emarginata D. C.) cuttings. The 10-12 cm long cuttings were taken from cv. Camb-6 with 3-4 pairs of leaves. The cuttings were treated (10 seconds) with 0; 500; 1,000; 1,500; 2,000 mg L-1 of indolbutiric acid. The experimental design was randomized blocks with 10 cuttings per plot. Indol-butiric acid had no effect in the rooting of the cuttings, which presented 36-46% of rooting.
