Um panorama sobre as políticas públicas arquivísticas de documentos presidenciais nos Estados Unidos da América

Resumo

Objetivo: O objetivo da pesquisa é explorar e descrever a trajetória da política arquivística aplicada aos documentos públicos dos Presidentes dos Estados Unidos da América.
Metodologia: O estudo caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa e de natureza exploratória, utilizando como procedimento metodológico a pesquisa bibliográfica e a pesquisa documental online no site do National Archives and Records Administration.
Resultados: Como resultados, são apresentados elementos de análise sobre as políticas arquivísticas para os documentos presidenciais, do ponto de vista da teoria e práxis que envolvem esse tipo de arquivo.
Conclusões: A evolução histórica, jurídica e política se reflete nas políticas arquivísticas do país e moldam os procedimentos de acesso e preservação da informação. Nos EUA, as estruturas administrativas e burocráticas, a atuação conjunta de Arquivos Nacionais e Bibliotecas Presidenciais e o protagonismo da figura do Arquivista compõem um modelo com características exclusivas daquele país.
