Uso da Classificação Decimal Universal para a recuperação da informação em ambientes digitais: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

Introdução: Os Sistemas de Organização do Conhecimento, mesmo os tradicionais, como a Classificação Decimal Universal, têm sido estudados para melhorar a recuperação da informação on-line, embora o potencial do uso de estruturas de conhecimento na interface do usuário ainda não foi difundido.Objetivo: Este estudo apresenta um mapeamento da produção científica sobre as metodologias de recuperação da informação, que fazem uso da Classificação Decimal Universal.
Metodologia: Revisão Sistemática da Literatura, conduzida por duas etapas, com seleção de 44 publicações, resultando no intervalo de tempo de 1964 a 2017, cujas categorias analisadas foram: autores mais produtivos, idiomas das publicações, tipos de documento, ano de publicação, trabalho mais citado, periódico de maior impacto e categorias temáticas abordadas nas publicações.
Resultados: Constatou-se um total de nove autores e coautores mais produtivos; predominância do idioma inglês (42 publicações); trabalhos publicados no formato de artigos de periódicos (33); e destaque ao ano de 2007 (oito publicações). Além disso, identificou-se que o trabalho mais citado foi de Mcilwaine (1997), com 61 citações, e o periódico Extensions & Corrections to the UDC foi o que apresentou maior número de publicações, além da incidência do tema Automação da Classificação Universal vinculada a um tesauro para recuperação da informação, presente em 19 trabalhos.
Conclusões: Escassez de estudos que exploram o potencial da Classificação Decimal, sobretudo na literatura brasileira, o que evidencia a necessidade de maior aprofundamento sobre o tema, envolvendo pesquisas no âmbito nacional e internacional.
