Bernardo said: 'Personally, I have learned a lot not only from him, but all my team-mates, since I arrived at Manchester City.

'He is one of the best managers ever. It is great to have him with us.'

Bernardo has seen his own game move to the next level under Guardiola's stewardship, with the winger playing an important role in City's success over the past two seasons.

The Citizens won the Premier League in Bernardo's first season at the club by registering 100 points in a relatively dominant campaign for Guardiola's side.

The following season saw the Portuguese winger score 13 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions as City retained their league title, as well as adding the League Cup and FA Cup to clinch the treble.

While the Champions League trophy is the only honour that has eluded Guardiola since his arrival in Manchester, Bernardo believes the style of play is attractive enough to appease the club's supporters for the time being.

Portuguese international Bernardo also praised Guardiola's influence on his own game

He added: 'I know my team-mates, the influence that he has since he arrived at Manchester City is huge.'

'You could see it with the results, with the titles in the last three seasons.

'Since I have arrived, we have won plenty of trophies. [But] it is not just that, it is the way we play.

'We think that we make our fans enjoy the way we play - offensive football, creating chances, scoring goals, [and] attractive football.'
