Pinterest unveils the biggest beauty trends for 2019

If you want to get ahead of the beauty game ahead next year, you could do worse than pay attention to Pinterest.

The visual scrapbooking site have rounded up the top beauty trends for 2019, and it seems it's going to be all about mixing natural styles with strong accents of gloss and colour. 

'Women from all different cultures, with all different skin tones, are coming to Pinterest to find ideas to try,' the people behind the site said.

'And they're 2.4 times more likely to experiment with different makeup versus women on other platforms.'

Here, FEMAIL reveals the 10 trends you should look out for and experiment with.






The people behind Pinterest constantly have their fingers on the pulse and now they have revealed the biggest beauty trends for 2019, one of them being baby fringes


Baby fringes are in

Hairstyle trends are constantly changing and the latest to appear is the baby fringe.

For the uninitiated baby fringes are a wispy or blunt bangs that start a couple of inches above the eyebrows. 

The cut is retro inspired and has proven to be very polarising but searches for short fringes on Pinterest have increased by 51 per cent.

But according to Pinterest there has been an increase in women growing out their natural grey hair and letting the silver shine through.

Backing this idea is the fact that searches for 'going grey' on the site increased by 879 per cent.

SNS is replacing gel nails

People are waving goodbye to chipped nails as a new formula has taken the market by storm.

Powder dipping, or SNS, lasts longer than traditional gels, is easier to remove and has seen searches increase by 442 per cent.

Lashes are being lifted naturally

Although many beauty lovers are turning to chemical lash lifts and lash extensions there has been a rise in people looking for natural solutions.

Beauty lovers are instead using products such as castor oil, grapeseed oil and aloe vera.

Searches for natural lash lifts have seen a sharp increase of 52 per cent.

Witch hazel is popular again

Witch hazel is an astringent made using a flower that is often used as a natural topical remedy.

This is because it contains a variety of compounds with potent anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties.

People have used it over the years to treat things varying from acne and skin sensitivity originally used by Native Americans before becoming the first mass-marketed American-made toiletry item.

It is now back in fashion as there has been a 305 per cent increase of people searching it on Pinterest.

Using lip gloss for eyeshadow

From lips to lids, gloss is helping people make their best features shine.

Beauty aficionados can easily recreate this look using an eyeshadow, and then applying a clear balm or oil on top for the glossy finish. 

Searches for glossy make up has increased by an impressive 89 per cent.

The standout pout is back

Another makeup look that is becoming more popular involves beauty gurus pairing barely-there make-up with a bold red kiss for added attention.

To pull of the look women should prepare their lips by applying a moisturising lip balm as it will provide a surface for applying colour. 

Many people steer clear of a bold lip colour because it is much more obvious when it gets outside of the lines of their lips but this can be avoided with the use of the right lip liner and concealer. 

Searches for a standout lip colour increased by 467 per cent this year.

Almond shaped nails

Nail shapes go in and out of fashion all the time but the latest that has proven to be popular is a little bit nutty.

Almond shaped nails have seen a 97 per cent increase on Pinterest.

People are lathering up with gentle liquid exfoliators for brighter, smoother skin.

They have also been designed to sweep away dead skin cells, leaving skin smoother and more radiant.

Thanks to the active ingredients, they're often far more effective than traditional scrubs.

Pinterest users seem to agree as the search for ??247 them has increased by 58 per cent.

Prepare to see lots of lilac in 2019 - this pretty pastel hair colour trend is growing fast.

Searches for lilac hair has increased by a whopping 1,077 per cent.
