Wolves have ordered their players to avoid trips to the supermarket during the coronavirus pandemic.

Nuno Espirito Santo's squad are currently following individual fitness programmes at their homes as they wait to learn when the crisis will ease sufficiently to allow football to resume.

Yet the club are keeping in regular contact with their stars to offer safety advice - one of which is to stay away from supermarkets when shopping for food.

Forward Pedro Neto revealed: 'We are trying to maintain our group and our contact with each other through WhatsApp.

'They are always speaking to us about staying safe, don't leave our houses, and try to avoid the supermarkets as well.

'They are giving us supplies like food and the things we need so we don't get caught out. It's been difficult but the club are supporting us a lot.

'It's been a little bit strange and very difficult because we are at home and we are not doing what we like. Being without football is like being without a part of our lives.

'Now I'm trying to be strong and of course we want the virus to pass, and it will pass, but we have to wait now.'

Wolves had played 48 competitive games before football was suspended after the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie against Olympiacos, a 1-1 draw behind closed doors in Athens.

Nuno was reluctant to take his team to Greece for that tie and like the other clubs involved in European competition, Wolves are known to have misgivings about resuming the Europa League until there are absolute guarantees over health and safety.
