Leicester Tigers players continue negotiations over wage cuts

Leicester Tigers captain Tom Youngs has confirmed players are still in dispute with the club over pay cuts.

Sportsmail revealed this week that stars' salaries has been slashed by 25 per cent without their consent, leading to potential claims for unlawful deduction of wages.

Youngs said: 'From a players' point of view, it's always been about helping the club through this situation, but we have to clearly understand what it entails.'

Prop Greg Bateman, the squad's Rugby Players' Association representative, has sought legal advice and is co-ordinating the players' response, while England star Ellis Genge has also been involved.

Speaking to the Tigers' website, Youngs added: 'Some guys have gone to get information to understand things. Greg and Gengey have been brilliant in their work.

'Greg is the RPA rep, he's getting information and getting it to the player group so we can get a clear picture of how this is all working. They have done a fantastic job.'
