Introduction about neem oil
por Belle Dunhill (2020-09-19)
Neem ?il is a naturally occurring pesticide found in seed? from the neem tree. It is yellow to brown, has a bitte? taste, and a garl?c/sulfur smell. It has been used for hundreds of years to control pests and diseases. C?mponents of neem oil can be found in many products today. Thes? include toothpaste, cosmetics, soaps, and pet shampoos. Neem oil is a mixture of components. Azadi??chtin is the most act?ve component for repelling and killing pests and can be ?xtracted fr?m neem oil. The porti?n left ove? is called c?arified hy?rophobic ne?m oil.
What are some products that ?ontain neem oil?
Ne?m oil and some of its purified components are used in over 100 pe?ticide products. They are applied to a wide variety of crops ?nd ?rnamental plants for insect control. Neem oil can be formulated into granule?, dust, wettable powders ?r emu?sifiable concentrates.
How doe? neem oil work?
Neem oil is made of many components. Azadirachtin i? the most active. It reduces insect feeding and a?ts as a repellent. It also interferes with insect hormone systems, making it harder for insects to grow and lay eggs. Azadirachtin can also repel and ??du?e t?? feeding of nematodes. Other components of neem oil kill ins?cts by hindering their abil?ty to feed. However, the ex?ct role of ?very component is not known.
