Request for extension
In specific cases, it is possible to request the Coordination Committee for at least 2(two) of the maximum deadline extensions listed in the item Course Requirements.
An extension may occur through the student’s formal request, including a favorable opinion from the advisor. The extension request is then analyzed by the Graduate Program in Language Studies –PPGEL Coordinating Committee, which will issue a favorable or non-favorable opinion.
The first extension, if granted, will be for 3 (three) months from the maximum deadline for the submission of the Dissertation or Thesis, according to the Stricto sensu Graduate School calendar.
It is possible to apply for a second extension provided that the date for the Qualifying Exam of the applicant has already been set, and, if granted, it will be for 3 (three months) from the conclusion of the first extension. Special cases will be analyzed by the Coordinating Committee and the decision will be referenced by the UEL Board of Graduate Studies.
