Program/Course:  Biomedicine

Overview: The Biomedicine Program integrates a collection of departments, including: the Departments of Anatomy, Physiological Sciences, Pathological Sciences, Histology and Microbiology, General Biology and Biochemistry and Biotechnology, and also incorporates professors from the departments of Animal and Plant Biology, Social and Institutional Psychology, Chemistry and Statistics. The program requires students to complete a total of 1075 hours of internships within 15 different areas of studies (Anatomy, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Human Physiology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Parasitology, Pathology, Human Histology, Virology and Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Embryology, and Genetics). The program integrates research with a faculty mentor, which allows students to acquire experience in design and development of a research project.

Award granted: Bachelor’s degree

Language of instruction: Courses are conducted entirely in Portuguese
